Site Lead Manager
Overview
The Site Lead is the point person on the jobsite, managing and directing tasks of all crew members and subcontractors on site to ensure efficiency and productivity. The role of the Site Lead is to provide on-site support to ensure that the project is executed in line with the agreed schedule and budget. The Site Lead needs to have the competency of a Lead Carpenter, along with the managerial skills to actively manage and supervise all jobsite crew members, including subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
Providing leadership to ensure that the crew is working together efficiently toward defined project goals
Setting a positive example for the jobsite team by actively supporting everyone on the crew, regardless of skill level, and never openly criticizing other members of the project team
Ensuring that all crew members understand which job cost code to track time against on timesheets, and reviewing crew timesheets on a weekly basis to check for accuracy
Facilitating a 2-5 minute crew meeting at the end of each day to answer questions and make sure time is accurately tracked
Consistently arriving at the jobsite on time, working within daily start and stop times, and taking break and lunch with crew
Organizing the workday and workflow to minimize overtime
Ensuring that the necessary tools & equipment are on site for job scope
Ensuring that job site trailers are stocked with necessary consumables ie: trash bags, sanding discs, tape, hardware etc.
Working with Project Manager to coordinate subcontractors to make sure they show up when needed, have the necessary on-site support, and are informed promptly of any schedule changes
Preparing the jobsite for subcontractors
Requesting support from the Project Manager or Architect as needed to answer design intent and documentation questions
Taking initiative to solve project problems and maintain high standards, involving the Project Manager, or Architect for additional support only when needed
Keeping the jobsite stocked with required materials with three or fewer supplier trips per week
Working with Project Manager to make sure special orders arrive on time and are installed properly
Notifying Project Manager when client requests a change so that paperwork can be presented to client for signature prior to starting additional work
Working with Project Manager to understand budget and hold to it
Working with Project Manager to understand schedule, update it, hold to it, and communicate clearly and in a timely fashion any anticipated delays in completion date, and reasons for delays
Maintaining personal, jobsite, and crew safety at all times
Ensuring that the jobsite is clean at the end of the day and well-organized during the day
Keeping a reliable jobsite notebook, and informing the client and other project team members promptly about issues of importance
Responding to client requests quickly and professionally and soliciting Project Manager, or Architect help with those requests if needed
Ensuring completion of all punch list and job close-out tasks
Ensuring good communication and prompt response to calls/texts/emails from the client and others on the project team
Work with Project Manager to submit coded receipts to the office in a reliable and timely fashion
Managing & Canceling Site Outhouse
Obtain OSHA 10hr Construction Training provided by Roots Builders
